The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences was established in 2005, however certain subjects have been taught since the first years of foundation of Tbilisi State University. The Faculty includes six departments: political science; international relations; sociology and social work; human geography; journalism and mass communication; and interdisciplinary programs. Students can choose between seven BA, Sixteen MA (including 1 English-speaking and 1 English-speaking with Georgian components) and eleven PhD programs. Presently about 3000 students are studying within the Faculty, most of whom have full or partial state grants.
